While the 2015 Challenger and Charger Hellcat models remain the most powerful muscle cars ever, Ford offers up a limited edition version of the 2014 Shelby GT500 with nearly 150 more horsepower.

Dubbed the “Super Snake”, it features a “greatest hits” list of Shelby’s most popular upgrades, pushing its horsepower output to an impressive 850.

You must already own a standard 2007-2014 GT500 coupe or convertible, which Shelby when then give a thorough performance upgrade — including a new 3.6-liter Kenne Bell supercharger, an upgraded Shelby Performance radiator, heat exchanger, and aluminum cooling tanks.

The Signature Edition Ford Shelby GT500 Super Snake, a ‘greatest hits’ of Shelby’s most popular upgrades for the outgoing GT500, and a package available to only 50 models and only until January 31st. So if you want one…you’d better act quickly.

Shelby also fiddles with the suspension, adds upgraded brakes in the rear, sets the new Signature Edition on forged Weld wheels, and graces the dash with Carroll Shelby’s signature (standard Super Snake interior shown above). Though not included, Shelby’s widebody package can be added at extra cost. But as a bonus, each of these sinister ophidians come available in any hue from the firm’s color palette (including stripes) and include a day of Shelby moderated track driving.

So what’s the total damage? Shelby prices this rare serpentine conversion at a cost of $44,995, which doesn’t include the donor GT500. Pricy? Yes. Probably ridiculously fast? We’d reckon so.

Burnouts for idiots… Checkout the Mustangs New Line Lock Burnout System

Normally the Germans are famous for over-thinking everything… but now Ford has done it with the Line Lock Burnout System which electronically locks the front brakes… so you can burn rubber without moving! It’s sort of like launch control, only the average driver might actually use it.

Now, line locks aren’t uncommon, particularly in drag racing. Usually, a flip of the switch locks the front brakes. The Mustang, besides offering the system from the factory which is unique in and of itself, looks a bit more involved.

Checkout this video and start saving your money for tires your going to need a lot of them!

2015 Corvette Z06 Does Massive Burnout Outside Dealership

So you just paid $80K for a brand-new Corvette Stingray Z06. And she’s just ready to be broken in. So what do you do? Well if you’re Vengeance Racing, you burn the rear tires down to the cords before ever leaving the lot.

This awesome burnout seems to last for an eternity as smoke from the 335/25ZR20-sized Michelin Pilot Super Sport 2 tires engulfs the car and the onlooking dealership staff. The aftermath is two huge black patches and matching shards of balled rubber. Perhaps it’ll serve as a Z06 selling point for the next 6 months.

Rest assured the Z06 will be taken care of. Vengeance is a full-blown race shop that specialized in small block V-8s. We’re sure this Corvette was taken directly back to the shop where Vengeance will install custom parts and accessories on it. It’s also very likely the supercharged, 6.2-liter V-8 will be making well north of its stock 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque before long. We’ll be keeping an eye out for the results.

Just in time for winter – Ford releases the 2015 Mustang Convertible!

December isn’t exactly the best time for a convertible, but Ford says its drop-top Mustang is perfectly suited for cold-weather cruising.

“Cold weather may have come unseasonably early this year, but with available heated seats, remote start and selectable drive modes with a snow/wet setting, Mustang is the perfect offering for the season,” said Mustang brand manager Melanie Banker. “While these seats also have a cooling feature, we suspect customers won’t be using this function for a few more months.”

The new convertible Mustang is available in GT trim, with a 435-horsepower V8 engine, or the lesser trim levels powered by Ford’s V6 or EcoBoost 4-cylinder engines.
